Running since 1892, the Romanes Lecture is one of Oxford’s most prestigious and famous lecture series. The 2016 lecture, entitled ‘The Commonwealth of Nations’, will be delivered by Baroness Scotland of Asthal, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations. The lecture will be an examination of the Commonwealth’s distinctive contribution to such pressing issues as climate change, the countering of violent extremism and the elimination of violence against women and girls.
