Gareth Evans and Hannah Ryley, English DPhil candidates

The Humanities Division and TORCH invite all staff on fixed-term research or teaching contracts to a free informal lunch and optional talk every week from week 1 in Hilary term. These lunches are a great chance for research and teaching staff from across the divisions to meet one another in an informal setting, to think about career development and to consider how to get the most out of your time in Oxford.

This term we will be combining the training lunches with the fortnightly Humanities and the Public Good series (www.torch.ox.ac.uk/publicgood), since this series will bring some leading scholars from around the world to discuss some of the most interesting questions about the role of the humanities. Each session will have a short talk by an Oxford humanities scholar, followed by three short responses, then plenty of time for discussion.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact training@humanities.ox.ac.uk
