Gabor Mithaly Toth's main field of research is the study of human cognition through historical documents. In his doctoral project he studied a fifteenth century Florentine merchant’s thinking and knowledge. For this research he used computing tools, ranging from corpus linguistics to semantic web technologies. He is specifically interested in text-mining, knowledge representation and data visualization. At the moment, he teaches digital humanities at the University of Passau, Germany.
