Introduction to Research Ethics at Oxford

The goals of the session are to understand:

  • why Oxford has an ethics review system for research projects involving human participants and personal data
  • what research is reviewed by the Interdivisional Research Ethics Committee for the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH IDREC)
  • common ethical issues which arise in relation to University policy (including typical case studies)
  • how to prepare an application for ethical approval                                                            

Attendees are encouraged to take at least Modules 1- 3 of our free online research integrity course.
