Kantik Ghosh

Kantik Ghosh was educated at Presidency College, Calcutta, and at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. He held a Junior Research Fellowship at Jesus College, Cambridge, and was a Darby Fellow at Lincoln College, Oxford, before joining Trinity as a Tutorial Fellow in English. In recent years, Dr Ghosh has been involved in collaborative research projects based in Oxford, Cambridge, Freiburg-im-Breisgau and Strasbourg. Currently, he is part of a pan-European research project, based in Groningen but involving scholars from many countries, on ‘New Communities of Interpretation’ in late-medieval religious and intellectual culture in Europe.

Dr Ghosh’s research interests include late-medieval religious, literary and intellectual history; the history of universities, esp. Oxford; late scholasticism; Councils of Constance and Basel; Wycliffism, Lollardy and heresy studies; medieval literary theory; Older Scots poetry; history of scepticism; medieval religious writings and biblical studies.

Dr Ghosh is the Convenor of the Medieval Studies M. St. programme for 2015-17.

Dr Kantik Ghosh is a member of the Oxford Medieval Studies Steering Committee.
