Louisa Layne

DPhil student

Louisa Olufsen Layne (DPhil in English) is a Senior Lecturer in Comparative and General Literature at the University of Oslo.  Her doctoral work studied the poetry of Linton Kwesi Johnson, with a particular focus on the aesthetics of reggae. Her research interests include theories of aesthetics, contemporary poetry and art, popular culture, lyrics, Caribbean literature and Black British writing.  From 2019, she will be a 3-year Postdoctoral Research Fellow as a part of the project Literature, Rights and Imagined Communites (University of Oslo).
