Olivia Durand

Dphil Candidate, Global and Imperial History

Born and raised in southern France, I have graduated from the Sorbonne University (Paris IV) with a BA in History in 2012, and a MPhil in History and English in 2014.

After obtaining my degree, I worked as an intern for the French Foreign Office at the Alliance Française of Odessa, in Ukraine, for seven months, and then left for the United States after receiving a Fulbright grant. There I taught as a Foreign Language Teaching assistant within Wilson College (PA), a Liberal Arts institution.

I have now started a doctoral degree in Global and Imperial History at the University of Oxford, and one of my main interests is the study of settler societies and the construction of identity in bilingual environments.
