Rabyah is the TORCH Communications and Events Officer. She manages TORCH's social media and communications, works on outreach activities, and edits the TORCH Annual Review. Rabyah also works on the Annual Headline Series and manages TORCH's flagship event series Book at Lunchtime.
Rabyah joined TORCH in November 2016 after her time at the Middle East Centre, St Antony’s College where she organised and coordinated the Centre’s busy events programme as well as managing its communications and administration. She has experience in developing tailored digital and social media strategies within the Higher Education research sector and her events experience includes organising the Antonius Lecture 2016 with Professor Noam Chomsky (MIT), organising and coordinating over 70 events spanning seminars and book launches to international conferences, and working with both internal and external organisations. Prior to this, Rabyah worked in events and administration at SOAS Language Centre and as a Copy Editor for an independent language consultancy firm in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She studied BA (Hons) Arabic and International Relations at the University of Exeter and then completed MSc Middle East Politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
