A lecture by William Kentridge, chaired by Seamus Perry (Massey Fellow in English Literature and Fellow Librarian, Balliol College, Oxford). This lecture is part of the Humanitas 2013 Visiting Professorship in Contemporary Art. 

 

William Kentridge is one of South Africa's pre-eminent artists, internationally acclaimed for his drawings, films, theatre and opera productions. His work calls on varied sources to create a complex universe, transforming sobering political events into powerful political allegories that address social injustice, revolutionary politics and the power of creative expression.
