TT 2017 Week 5 Updates

Week 6 is ABSOLUTELY TRANSLATION FABULOUS! We start the week with the OCCT Discussion Group at St Anne's in Seminar Room 3. Our special guest will be Katrin Kohl, Professor of German Literature and Principal Investigator for the Creative Multilingualism programme. As always, a free sandwich lunch, fruit, and coffee will be provided. On Friday the 2nd of June, Waterstones elegantly ushers in Oxford Translation Day with an amazing Poeting in Translation event. The event is an open mic! Be it Finnish, Chinese or Lithuanian, we are looking forward to hearing as many languages as you can bring! Bring your poems, bring your translations! Sign up is available here. Last but not least, Oxford Translation Day is taking place on the 3rd of June. We have an excellent line-up: women’s writing from the post-Soviet Baltic states; translation workshops; an achingly cool modern libretto, and MUCH MUCH MORE! Don’t dare miss out! All events are free but registration is required. More info about the programme and how to book here.

In Week 5, the Fiction and Other Minds seminar investigated the concept of Enacting Fictional Space with the speaker Merja Polvinen (Helsinki). Terence Cave (Oxford) was the respondent.
