A twilight taster of literature, music & science, from medieval times to the modern day

Join us for a twilight taster of literature, music and science, inspired by dream imagery and sleep, from medieval times to the modern day. The programme explores the genre of dream vision poetry – including readings from Old English poetry, such as The Dream of the Rood, Chaucer and Dante – Shakespeare’s dramatic representation of dreams, musings from modern and contemporary literature, interwoven with works for voice and piano.

The performance will take place in Somerville Chapel from 5.30 to around 6.30 pm, which concludes with a reception and chance to find out more about dream imagery in literature, music and the science of sleep with our peformers.
