Valerie Worth is Professor of French and Senior Tutor of Trinity College Oxford. She has published extensively on early modern French studies, translation and the contemporary French language, and has a particular research interest in the history of women’s medicine c. 1500-1700. In October 2014, her volume Pregnancy and Birth in Early Modern France. Treatises by caring physicians and surgeons won the Society for the Study of Early Modern Women's Prize for the Best Teaching Edition in the field of gender and women’s studies. Valerie currently holds a Mellon-TORCH Knowledge Exchange Fellowship for her partnership with the Library services of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (London).
