Alice is an intersectional feminist with a passion for social justice and specifically the fight for equal rights. She undertook her undergraduate degree at Queen Mary University of London, writing her final dissertation on Hannah Gavron and the crises of motherhood, under the supervision of Dr Rhodri Hayward. Alice then completed her Masters degree, also at QMUL, focusing on women’s history in modern Britain. She wrote her dissertation on the Medical Women’s Federation and their attempts to ameliorate experiences of menstruation for adolescents, supervised by Dr Helen McCarthy. At Oxford Alice is working on an oral history DPhil project concerning the ways that adolescents experienced menarche.
