Hugh Jeffery is an archaeologist specialising in the material culture of late antique and medieval Asia Minor. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Oxford and a predoctoral fellow at Koç University’s Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations [ANAMED]. He is particularly interested in material cultures of ritual, authority and religion, and in medieval engagements with the material past. His doctoral thesis addresses the Middle Byzantine settlement at Aphrodisias. He holds a BA and an MSt in Classical Archaeology from the University of Oxford.
