Vittoria Bufanio was awarded a master’s degree in History at the University of Milan (April 2017). She is currently a Ph.D. student at University of Padua and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (2019-20) and she obtained scholarships from the Italo-French University and the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice.
Her research concerns the social-economic history of Late Medieval Europe, with a focus on the County of Savoy. Her Ph.D thesis, titled “Il lavoro nei cantieri edili di Filippo di Savoia-Acaia. Gli uomini, il principe e l’impatto sulle comunità”, focuses on the study of social-economic impact of construction sector in 14th Century Piedmont. Her work, conducted mainly on the basis of written sources but at the crossroads of various approaches, includes labour history, determinants and consequence of labour mobility, knowledge transfer and interaction between humans and the environment.
