Dr Tessa Roynon took part in a discussion about Toni Morrison and Black British writers on BBC Woman's Hour on 6 January. The conversation focused on Morrison's 1987 novel, _Beloved_, which has just been adapted by Patricia Cumper for the BBC drama, airing this week and next. Tessa talks about the novel, about the fact that black writing is not 'niche' or 'marginal', and about the role of the Civil Rights Movement in Black American literature.
