We are delighted to be hosting Callaloo for their sixth annual conference, “The Transatlantic, Africa & its Diaspora”, which will be their first conference held in Europe. The conference brings together the creative and the critical and showcases creative writers, established and emerging, from Africa, the Caribbean, the U. K., and the U.S. A. for readings in Oxford and London.

Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o, the Kenyan writer and activist, will be giving the keynote speech at the conference opening at 7 pm on Wednesday 27th November. The following evening speakers include the Booker Prize winning author Ben Okri (The Famished Road), with the US Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey reading alongside other creative writers on Friday night. In addition there will be a series of public lectures and panel discussions during the day from Thursday to Saturday.

Everyone is welcome to attend, but to ensure a seat please register here (you need to register for each day separately).
