In this first episode of the podcast linked to the Disruptive Dialogues project, Dr Tinashe Mushakavanhu tells Dr Niall Munro about Dambudzo Marechera's arrival in Oxford in October 1974. Speaking outside New College, Tinashe explains how Marechera came to resist both College rules and the way he was being taught, and created an alternative curriculum for himself. The conversation then explores Marechera's relationship with the city of Oxford and his eventual expulsion from New College in March 1976.
