Guest speaker Professor Darién Davis, is giving a talk on "Between 'Progress' and  'Grandeur': The Circulation of Brazilian Culture During the Early Decades of the Cold War." It will treat issues related to his current book project on the circulation of Brazilian popular culture in the Atlantic world from the 1950s to the 1970s. Professor Darién J. Davis teaches courses in Latin American cultural and social history, and on diaspora and immigration at Middlebury College, Vermont.
