Week 8, Wednesday 04 December 2024, 1pm - 2pm
VHH Seminar Room, Lincoln College
All welcome!
We are absolutely delighted to announce a new event series for the Medieval Women’s Writing research group: Chat with an Expert.
Once a term we invite an expert from an academia adjacent field to talk about alternative ways to engage with medieval women’s writing beyond the “academic bubble”, and to discuss possibilities to foster public interest in this matter.
For our first session of this event series, we are very lucky to host Dr Rachel Delman (Heritage Partnerships Coordinator, Humanities Division, University of Oxford), who works on nurturing and developing links between researchers and students at the University of Oxford and external heritage sites, organisations and partners. Rachel is also the co-organiser of Oxford Heritage Pathways (winner of the Vice-Chancellor’s Support for Students Award 2024). Rachel will talk about her experiences of telling medieval women’s stories in heritage and community settings, along with some practical pointers for engaging public audiences, followed by a Q&A.
Convenors:
Katherine Smith, Marlene Schilling, and Santhia Velasco Kittlaus
