CANCELLED: CONSENT by Nina Raine

Consent

Ronin Theatre Productions have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel CONSENT on. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope you will understand our decision in light of the uncertainty arising from recent global events. Please contact Arts at the Old Fire Station if you have already purchased tickets.

Award-winning playwright Nina Raines’s Consent premiered in 2017 to sell out audiences at the National Theatre and will be performed at Modern Art Oxford by local company Ronin Theatre Productions, the only company in Oxford dedicated to performing modern plays.

Successful lawyer Ed seems to have it all: a happy marriage, a good career, a new baby. But when he and his friend Tim find themselves fighting opposite sides of a rape case, their perfect lives begin to unravel. Infidelity, love and revenge will change everything…

After their acclaimed production of The Effect, Ronin returns to Modern Art Oxford with this darkly funny, blisteringly tense modern classic.

Director Jessica Reilly says: “Consent by Nina Raine is a fantastic play. This tense, entertaining modern-day tragi-comedy focuses on the shades of grey within relationships, fidelity and the impact of accusations within relationships.’

Ronin are also very pleased to be hosting, in partnership with The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH), a post-show discussion on Thursday 2nd April, with experts in the field of psychology and law.

Ronin Theatre are thrilled to bring this tense and fascinating exploration on the human psyche to Oxford audiences.

Tickets from £13. Click here to book your tickets online, or call 01865 263990.

  •  “This bracingly clever, bleakly funny play offers no easy answers to any of its questions: what is justice, what is vengeance, and which is right?” – Guardian
