Creation Theatre explore Henry VIII

Portrait painting of King Henry the Eight

These rehearsed readings of Shakespeare and Fletcher’s ‘Henry VIII’ are part of a wider collaboration between Dr Laura Jayne Wright and Creation Theatre, which seeks to investigate the lavish (and questionable) representation of history in this rarely-performed play. While next year we hope to return this production to its intended form, with rich Tudor costumes and settings, we are delighted to offer a Zoom reading which captures the essence of this play’s delicious language and vicious politics.
