This exhibition, comprised of around 30 black-and-white photographs, is the work of Puerto Rican author and artist Eduardo Lalo (b. 1960). Lalo’s photographic work depicts different scenes of vulnerability in contemporary Puerto Rico, where citizens of this US commonwealth have been suffering the effects of a crippling debt crisis that has worsened even more in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.
The exhibition is open every day from 10am to 3pm to the general public.
Eduardo Lalo is professor of literature in the School of General Studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus. During Trinity Term 2019, Lalo will be in Oxford as a TORCH Global South Visiting Professor.
