The Enlightenment Workshop, Oxford’s interdisciplinary research seminar in Enlightenment studies, is dedicated this term to discussions of new publications in the field. The second session is the occasion for discussion of L'Héritage des Lumières: ambivalences de la modernité by Antoine Lilti, Professor of History at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris. It will be discussed by Margaret Jacob, Professor emerita of History at UCLA and Darrin McMahon, the Mary Brinsmead Wheelock Professor of History at Dartmouth College.
