Law and Legalism in Tibet

Professor Fernanda Pirie (Centre for Socio-Legal Centre) is organising an event on 'Law and Legalism in Tibet'.

This workshop will bring together scholars working on different aspects of traditional Tibetan law. They will consider a range of examples, including imperial material; historical narratives and legalistic documents from the Medieval period; the zhal lce and administrative documents of the Ganden Phodrang era; the extensive legal records of central Tibetan estates; and regional and local legalism.
