Machine Self: an evening of multistylistic performances augmented and disrupted by AI technology developed by the performers themselves.

AIMC presents “Machine Self”: an evening of multistylistic performances augmented and disrupted by AI technology developed by the performers themselves.

This free concert demonstrates the potential of AI as a tool to create boundary-crossing new artistic work that defies categorisation. AI will be improvising jazz alongside human musicians in Craig Vear and Fabrizio Poltronieri’s “Solaris” and bringing the intricate and soft noises of graphite on wood to life in composer Julie Zhu’s “Deep Drawing”. Erik Nystrom’s “Unformation” features the composer navigating an AI algorithm at the edge of chaos and disorder, while Pierre Eghdami constructs and deconstructs sonic masses in surround sound throughout his piece Schistosité II.
