Mike Bartlett: A Conversation

This event is organised by an external organisation: The Old Fire Station

This post-show panel explores the theatre and television work of Mike Bartlett, one of Oxford’s most highly regarded resident playwrights. Beginning with discussion of the world premiere on Mrs Delgado at the Oxford Fire Station, we move on to discuss Bartlett’s deft engagement with classical literature, queer relationships, the climate crisis and the Royal family, and his work with institutions including the Royal Court, the Old Vic, the National Theatre, and of course the Old Fire Station. Join us for an informative and informal celebration of one of Oxford’s own.

With Mike on the panel will be:
Dr Hannah Simpson – the Rosemary Pountney Junior Research Fellow in Theatre at St Anne’s College, Oxford
Dr Hannah Greenstreet – a researcher, theatre critic and playwright based in Oxford.
Marcus Bell – a DPhil scholar in contemporary and classical tragedy at St Hilda’s College, Oxford, and a dancer and choreographer.

To attend this panel, you buy a ticket for the 7.30pm performance of Mrs Delgado via the Old Fire Station. The panel will follow the performance, and will last for no more than 30-40 minutes. Tickets are also available for other nights of the run (6-21 December).
