Psychopathy: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Speaker: Cleo Van Velsen, Psychoanalyst, Consultant Psychiatrist in Forensic Psychotherapy, Personality Disorder Medium Secure Unit, East London Foundation Trust
Discussant: Stephen Mulhall, Professor of Philosophy, Oxford University and Fellow and Tutor in Philosophy, New College Oxford
This is part of the "Meaning and Mindedness: Encounters between Philosophy and Pscyhoanalysis" series.
The series will be an opportunity to explore the common ground between psychoanalysis and philosophy, both by exposing clinicians to the way philosophers think about issues relevant for them, and by enabling philosophers to see how their theories might be put to use in actual work with patients.
With both disciplines passionately committed to understanding something of the truth about human nature and human living, we hope the series will be a stimulating and enlightening exchange and a creative forum for the development of new ideas and understanding.
Fee: £20
