Joseph Bergin will be presenting a paper ‘Revolving doors? Gallicans, Dévots and Jansenists in Early Seventeenth-Century France’.
Professor Bergin is Emeritus Professor of Modern History at the University of Manchester and a leading authority on early modern Catholicism, specialising in France. His most recent book is The Politics of Religion in Early Modern France (2014).
