Speaker: Yeogeun Kim

Yeogeun Kim discusses translations of a 17th century Korean Buddhist romance and their visual renditions.

Bio: Yeogeun Yonsue Kim (김여근) is a DPhil candidate in Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford. Her thesis explores translations and visual adaptations of Korean fiction: A Dream of the Nine Clouds and The Tale of ChunHyang. Her research interests include reception theory, media studies, and visual culture. As a visual artist, she also founded a program on art and environment and taught at Dartmouth College in USA and Chungbuk National University in Korea before.
