2021 marks the 100th anniversary of Sophie Scholl’s birth on 9 May 1921. As part of its commemoration events this year, the Oxford White Rose Project will hold a one-day colloquium focusing on the White Rose resistance pamphlets on Friday 7 May 2021. The pamphlets were inspired by literature and philosophy, and include quotations from Goethe, Schiller, Novalis, Laozi, Aristotle, Cicero, and St Augustine. The colloquium will explore these references in detail and bring fresh perspectives to bear on this remarkable set of resistance texts.
