The Old Fire Station

In 1898, Swiss artist Félix Vallotton exposed the private lives of the aristocracy in a series of ten woodcuts: 'Intimités'. Now, artist/writer duo, Paul Majek and Sam Spencer, present 'Intimacies, after Vallotton'.

Paper Moon Theatre invites you to spend an evening in the hazy, blue world of Vallotton’s lovers, reimagined and brought to life for the first time in the Old Fire Station gallery in an innovative artistic-dramatic dialogue.

Here, you will witness the fusion of art and theatre, choosing which paintings to listen to in parallel with Majek's cobalt canvases. Lose yourself within a tumultuous world of romance, miscommunication, and many shades of blue.

With a specially-curated ‘after hours’ performance spread across three floors at the OFS gallery, featuring live music; panel discussions with the artists, curators, academics; and of course the stunning artworks and audio collaboration, you will experience 'Intimacies' in its purest form: sensual, vibrant, and buzzing. Book your ticket for a night of immersion and intrigue.

The solo exhibition can also be visited during gallery open hours from 4 March - 16 April 2022 if you wish to explore the artwork before it comes to life by night!
