OMS Comms Officer: Dr Caroline Batten
Caroline is Stipendiary Lecturer in Early Medieval English at St Edmund Hall, and also teaches Old English at Worcester, St John’s, and Trinity Colleges. Her work examines medicine, magic, and the body in Old English and Old Norse literature. MSt Medieval Studies Mentors: Dr Alexandra Vukovich and Dr Mary Boyle
Alexandra is a British Academy Research Fellow in Byzantine and Eurasian History at St Edmund Hall, where her research spans the period from Early Rus, the Mongol period, Muscovy, and the early Tsardom of Russia. At Teddy Hall, Alex teaches the European and World History papers and has lectured and convened Master's modules in Byzantine, Eurasian, and Eastern European history at the History Faculty and at the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, respectively. She also co-convenes the New Critical Approaches to the Byzantine World Network at TORCH. Masters students can contact her at alexandra.vukovich@seh.ox.ac.uk .
Mary is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in Medieval and Modern Languages and (from October) a JRF at Linacre College, working on nineteenth-century Anglophone and Germanophone medievalism. She teaches on the various medieval German papers and is one of the organisers of Teaching the Codex. Mary is a graduate of Oxford’s Medieval Studies MSt and completed a joint German and English DPhil. She’s excited to return to Oxford after finishing an Irish Research Council postdoctoral fellowship at Maynooth University. Master’s students can reach her at mary.boyle@mod-langs.ox.ac.uk
Social Media Officer: Llewelyn Hopwood
Llewelyn is a second-year DPhil at the English Faculty specialising in Celtic languages and writing a thesis on sound and auditory perception in medieval Wales. Llewelyn looks after the Twitter and Facebook, so for anything related to OMS’s online presence, contact llewelyn.hopwood@ccc.ox.ac.uk. He recently wrote a blog post for OMS about appreciating medieval literature in times of coronavirus.
Graduate Convenors: Sarah Bridge and Scott Moynihan
Sarah is a third-year DPhil in Medieval and Modern Languages. She works on Anglo-Norman, Middle English, and Latin literature, focusing on manuscript studies, multilingualism, and translation. Graduate students can get in touch with her at sarah.bridge@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk.
Scott is a DPhil at the History Faculty, whose research examines interreligious diplomacy during the Crusades. He can be reached at scott.moynihan@history.ox.ac.uk.
