New Voices on Anatolia will be a two-day conference for graduate students working on any aspect of Anatolia in antiquity. The aim of the conference is to bring graduates together, facilitating cross-pollination of thought and showcasing a variety of new approaches to Asia Minor. Papers have a wide chronological range, from the Early Iron Age to Late Antiquity, as well as modern receptions of Anatolia's antiquity. Although speakers are drawn from the graduate community, all are welcome to attend.
The keynote will be given by Prof. Naoíse Mac Sweeney (U. Wien), entitled Kingly Cloth: Power Dressing in Iron Age Anatolia.
A full programme can be found on the conference website. Although the language of the conference will be English, we are pleased to host a wide range of speakers from non-Anglophone traditions, including Turkish academics.
The conference will be held in Oxford's Ioannou Centre. We hope to facilitate online attendance.
