The workshop will present an overview of best practices and applications for collecting, organizing, sharing, and digitally archiving full-texts, spreadsheets, and images for Humanities research. It will include a discussion of the relevant data formats, recommended technical specifications and an introduction (with some time for hands-on practice) to tools for organizing, editing, and reconciling large data collections. The course will conclude with a discussion of relevant data sharing licences, and recommendations for backing-up and digitally archiving your data. There are no technical prerequisites but all attendees must bring along a (Mac/PC) laptop.
