Exploring the role of imagination in thinking about the future
Please note that the venue has changed.
17 June 12:00 to 14:00
Boardroom, Faculty of Theology and Religion, Gibson Building, Radcliffe Observatory, Woodstock Rd, Oxford OX2 6GG
Due to the last-minute unavailability of our phenomenologists, the workshop will explore the theme of the imagination through the lens of science and technology studies (STS) rather than social sculpture. In the first half, we will use STS ways of thinking to trace the way imagined ideas become material reality and create possible futures. In the second half, we will explore the idea of ‘imaginative bias’ in futures thinking and practice some creative strategies. The workshop will be led by Anne Ploin and Dan Holloway.
