Interested in writing for the stage and working with young people?
After the success of our first event, TORCH is delighted to announce a second Writing for the Stage workshop on Saturday 1 February!
Led by playwright, actor and artistic director Sudha Bhucha, researchers and students from Oxford University will be paired with young people from a local youth group. Together, you’ll explore character development and world building, before producing short pieces of writing for the stage based on, or in response to, your own life experiences.
Participants found the first workshop inspirational and the sharing of insights and experiences with young people particularly valuable.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your own stage writing skills and gain experience working with a professional practitioner and with young people in the arts.
The workshop takes place in Radcliffe Humanities from 10am – 3.30pm. Lunch will be provided and any travel costs reimbursed. Open to research and taught students from all departments, faculties and schools.
