Participatory Performance Programme

performance research hub logo

The Participatory Performance Programme is a researcher and partner-led initiative to explore co-creative and collaborative work in theatre and performance.

Twice a term, the Performance Research Hub's steering committee will host events including:

  • Scratch events and new-work sharings, by researchers and partner artists
  • Play readings and performances related to the work of researchers
  • Thinktank discussions with researchers and performers including playwrights, musicians, poets, theatre & festival producers, Visiting Fellows and others

Through genuinely participatory collaboration, it aims to directly influence policy around creative and collaborative practice and increase socio-economic impact in these sectors. It is a space for mutually beneficial partnerships between researchers and artists. The Performance Research Hub provides an arena for researchers and practitioners with shared interests within this field to come together to discuss the theory of performance and to cross-fertilise ideas and practice across a wide range of academic disciplines and communities. The Participatory Performance Programme project will link directly with the initiatives of the Performance Research Hub, enabling external artists and partners to work with academics to co-create, collaborate and share their research and work in new ways and with new and wider audiences.

Made possible by the van Houten Fund.
