Adam Possener is a composer and violist based in Oxford. He was awarded a Royal Philharmonic Society Prize in 2018, the National Centre for Early Music’s Young Composer prize in 2022 and is an Associate Soundhub Composer with the London Symphony Orchestra. He is currently being supported by Arts Council England with a Developing Your Creative Practice Grant. In 2022 he founded the Komuna Collective an interdisciplinary group of artists, musicians and DJs who have performed at London Fashion Week, Queer Techno Rave ‘Riposte’ in London and in nightclubs around Oxford. He studies composition at Oxford University with Jennifer Walshe and Martyn Harry. In 2022 he won the Phillip Geddes Memorial Prize for most promising undergraduate journalist in Oxford, funding him to research Punk Jewish music in New York City. He also writes about music for American Jewish culture magazine Hey Alma and for the Oxford Review of Books.
