Andrés Piquer Otero researches textual criticism and the books of Kings. He is editor of 2 Kings for The Hebrew Bible: A Critical Edition (SBL Press), and has collaborated with Julio Trebolle and Pablo Torijano on textual criticism of secondary versions for the Greek text of 1–2 Kings. He is the author of Estudios de Sintaxis Verbal en Textos Ugaríticos Poéticos, co-editor of The text of the Hebrew Bible and Its Editions and Textual Criticism and Dead Sea Scrolls Studies in Honour of Julio Trebolle Barrera, and a contributor to The Textual History of the Bible.

In 2019, Andrés was a participant in the Oxford-Madrid-Helsinki Workshop on Textual Criticism, funded by the TORCH International Partnership Scheme.
