Gillian Lamb is a Post-doctoral Research Assistant on the ‘Uncovering histories of childhood within the National Trust’ Knowledge Exchange project. She is also a Stipendiary Lecturer in History at Somerville College Oxford. In 2022, she completed her doctorate at the University of Oxford on ‘Child welfare and the impact of late-nineteenth-century English reformatory and industrial schools: a life-course analysis of social mobility, emigration, and character’. Her research explores the history of social mobility, welfare, and childhood in modern Britain.
