Dr Jacopo Garzonio obtained an MA in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Pisa, and subsequently a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Padua, in 2005. He has held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of padua and Venezia- Ca' Foscari, where in the period 2011-2015 he was the local researcher in charge for the project Un'inchiesta grammaticale sui dialetti italiani: ricerca sul campo, gestione dei dati, analisi linguistica (the syntactic atlas is available at: http://asit.maldura.unipd.it/ ). He has taught Linguistics, Language Didactic and Syntax at the Universities of Ferrara and Padua. From September 2016 he is the Principal Investigator at DiSLL for a 'Starting Grants' project, funded by CaRiPaRo, whose title is Profilo grammaticale del veneto delle origini.
