Phil manages the project Fantasy Futures: Imagining Immersive Innovation, which explores the potential of immersive screen-based technology to bring research narratives to new audiences and enhance a city’s cultural offering.
Phil divides his time between TORCH and as a freelance editor, working with academic publishers and NGOs. Previously, he worked in publishing, communications, and project management roles for Oxford University Press and the University of Oxford. During this time, he curated a termly film programme at Wolfson College, inviting speakers and chairing panel discussions with directors and academics.
Outside of work, Phil serves on the Programming Committee of his local independent cinema, where he also helps out with its day-to-day running and operation. Phil has a degree in English & American Literature from Manchester University and a postgraduate degree in Publishing from Oxford Brookes University.
