Dr Vittoria Fallanca is a scholar of Renaissance literature, with particular interests in philosophy, aesthetics and art history and theory. She is writing a book due to come out with OUP called The Design of Montaigne's "Essais", which connects Montaigne's writing and the essay form to early modern practices and theories of design and drawing. Her second project looks at the mythological figure of Anteros and its uses in Renaissance lyric poetry, following in the intricate tracks of this beguiling god of love to reveal how Renaissance poets constructed new and unexpected narratives and counter-narratives of love, friendship and desire.
