Join Professor Imre Szeman, Inaugural Director of the Institute for Environment, Conservation, and Sustainability and Professor of Human Geography at the University of Toronto, as he examines the field of energy humanities. From its beginnings, the discipline has experimented with innovative forms of scholarly research. Spurred by the urgency of the climate crisis and the justice issues at the heart of the field, the discipline has explored how to do research differently - and even why to do environmental humanities at all. Prof Szeman will discuss models for exciting and just energy humanities work, including the After Oil projects and the Banff Research in Culture extended research residencies.
