Reading choices in young and SEND children: a conversation
Monday 2 June 2025, 6-7pm
Colin Matthew Room, Radcliffe Humanities, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6GG
What do young and SEND children want to read? What leads them to choose a particular book?
Join us for a light-hearted academic conversation about reading choices and reading for pleasure, based on the findings of our action research.
Our research question: "If children attend a theatre performance of a fairy tale, do they choose to read more fairy tales as a result?"
Emma Boor (Wild Boor ideas), Jules Pottle (Storytelling Schools, Artful Fox Creatives) and two small elves will share what they have learned. Hosted by Professor Nicholas Perkins (English).
