Hannah Greenstreet (DPhil English) will lead a discussion of the introduction to Jill Dolan's Utopia in Performance: Finding Hope at the Theatre (University of Michigan Press, 2005). We will also explore Dolan's concept of 'critical generosity' when approaching and writing about performances.
The Theatre & Performance reading group meets fortnightly on Monday evenings in term, for informal discussion of critical work in theatre & performance studies. Each session is led by a postgraduate student or early career researcher on a topic connected with their research, with a short reading circulated in advance.
