William Marx

Professor William Marx is the Professor of Comparative Literature at the Collège de France, and is the 2022 Visiting Professor for the TORCH/Princeton University Press Lecture Series in European History and Culture. In 2010, he received the Montyon Prize of the Académie française, and he was elected as a member of the Academia Europaea in 2022. His publications include: Naissance de la critique moderne (2002). The Rearguard at XXe century (2004), Farewell to Literature (2005), Life of the Scholar (2009), The Tomb of Oedipus (2012), The Hatred of Literature (2015), Gay Knowledge (2018), Living in the Library of the World (2020) and New Stars (2021).
