We are pleased to have been involved in a new report, produced by The Heritage Alliance and Hannah Shimko (Heritage Consultant), outlining the impact of Heritage on the Creative Industries.
Several of our collaborative projects have been included as case studies in the report, including the Victorian Light Night in 2018 and the Oxford Internet Institute's Cabinet project. Also included are several projects born out of connections made at the Creative Industries workshops in 2018-19, including Arcade's 'Marvellous Missenden'.
The Partnerships team were involved in roundtables feeding into the report, which seeks to influence Heritage policy. We also funded (through the Creative Industries fund) the immersive Augmented Reality experience that was piloted at the launch on 17 September; a project involving Professor Siân Pooley and DPhil student Gillian Lamb (who work on Victorian children's and school history), Arcade Ltd and the Ragged School Museum. We are now working with Siân and Gillian to develop a further workshop on this topic that will bring together relevant Heritage sites/collections and creative practitioners, with a view to transforming some of the current Heritage narratives through engagement with contemporary research - and finding new, innovative ways of telling these stories.
